Here are the latest TTC updates:
Last week, to mark Global Accessibility Day (18th May), TTC's Lexie Papaspyrou joined Signatory Samsung at their 'Tech Together' event, highlighting digital access and inclusion for those with visible and invisible disabilities. We loved hearing about Samsung's Blind Cap for Paralympic swimmers. You can read more on ways to be disability inclusive here.
The Working Families Index shows that working parents on lower incomes take far less parental leave than the average parent and are often locked out of the flexible working arrangements they desperately need. Over half of working parents on lower incomes (51%) have had to reduce their working hours to manage childcare needs. Women and Black parents especially feel the brunt of this, with 58% and 60%, respectively, having to reduce their hours. Read advice on how to support colleagues taking parental leave.
This month the US Surgeon General released an advisory on the "epidemic of loneliness and isolation". TTC's recent Signatory Forum on Digital Wellbeing was focused on exploring how to ensure remote and hybrid work doesn't contribute to it.
With our work environments now virtualised, we need to redefine workplace behaviours, beliefs and cultures to preserve employee engagement, wellbeing, health and productivity. Catch up on the key takeaways in 👉 our latest blog post, where you can also find the recording if you missed it!
