The Tech Talent Charter (TTC) recently partnered with global technology firm Leidos to convene a group of experts to explore the topic of Social Value. In this blog, we’ll look at the origins of the concept, the role of diversity and inclusion (D&I), and ways that you can learn more about this emerging area.

New research from digital services company and TTC Signatory AND Digital found that a lack of digital skills is jeopardising UK business growth, with 81% of managing directors saying a lack of digital skills has negatively impacted their organisation.

The belief that “what isn’t measured isn’t managed” is a key underpinning of the Tech Talent Charter. As part of this focus, we require our 700+ Signatories to submit their diversity data annually. This data allows us to measure diversity in tech roles and generate one of the UK's largest and broadest D&I datasets to track if inclusion and diversity metrics for tech roles at Signatory organisations are improving.

New TTC Signatory Samsung recently shared powerful new research that has found gender-biased language and the use of stereotypes is widespread within UK workplaces, with women asked to make tea or coffee almost three times more than men. Women are also more than twice as likely to be asked about their children, and twice as likely to be asked to do menial or admin-based tasks.
